Finding Your Natural Connection Points
Discovering when you already connect with your inner wisdom
Over the past few weeks, we've explored spending time alone with yourself and the balance between consuming and creating.
Today, I want to help you identify the moments when you're already naturally connecting with your inner guidance – even if you haven't noticed it yet.
The Sparks Are Already There
You don't need to create entirely new practices to connect with your Anchored Self. The truth is, you're likely already experiencing moments of clarity, creativity, and inner knowing. You just need to recognize them.
This week's podcast episode, Who Are You Listening To, explores how to distinguish between the helpful voices in your head and the ones that keep you stuck. But before you can tune into the right voice, it helps to know when you're already hearing it clearly.
Quick Questions to Explore
Take a moment to reflect on these questions – they might reveal more than you expect:
When do you get your best ideas? Is it in the shower? During your commute? While walking? Right before you fall asleep? These moments of inspiration are clues about when your mind is most receptive to your inner wisdom.
When do you feel most like yourself? Think about activities or settings where you feel most authentic and at ease. What's different about these moments compared to when you feel disconnected from yourself?
When do you naturally tune into your body's signals? Maybe you notice hunger more clearly during quiet mornings, or you become aware of tension in your shoulders while gardening. These are glimpses of the body awareness that's always available to you.
What activities make you lose track of time? Whether it's cooking, organizing, having deep conversations, or working on a project – these flow states often connect us to something deeper than our everyday thoughts.
When do you feel most creative or inspired? Creativity and inner wisdom often go hand in hand. The conditions that spark your creativity might also be when your inner guidance is most accessible.
Your Personal Pattern
As you consider these questions, you might start to notice a pattern. Perhaps your clearest moments happen when you're moving your body, or when you're engaged in repetitive tasks, or when you're in nature.
These aren't coincidences – they're your natural connection points. Instead of fighting against your tendencies or trying to force connection in ways that don't work for you, what if you honored these patterns and created more opportunities for them?
Building on What Already Works
If you discover that your best ideas come during walks, could you take one short walk each day without headphones? If you feel most connected while cooking, could you turn off the background noise and be fully present with the process?
The goal isn't to add more to your plate – it's to recognize and amplify the moments when you're already connecting with your deeper wisdom.
Your turn: Which of these questions sparked the most insight for you? Share in the comments what you discovered about your natural connection points.
