Have you ever felt that sense deep down — that something needs to shift?
You might not know what the shift is, or how it’s going to happen, but you just know that change is on the horizon.
Maybe you feel resistance. You know something has to change, but you can’t quite figure out what, or you can’t get yourself to do the thing you want to do. Sometimes the shift is brewing under the surface, and it hasn’t fully revealed itself yet.
That’s what has been happening for me with this Substack.
Just over a year ago, I wrote in this article that something exciting was coming. I knew I wanted to make changes here, but I wasn’t sure what they would look like. So I let the idea simmer in the background. I checked in on it now and then, but nothing felt fully clear.
It wasn’t resistance. It was more like planting seeds and waiting to see what would grow.
And now — I have clarity.
I see the direction I want to take this blog, and today I’m inviting you into that shift with me.

I love the word shift. It’s something I use often with my clients:
Shifting states.
Shifting the nervous system from survival to connection.
Shifting from fear to possibility.
Shifting from scarcity to abundance.
So much opens up when we allow a shift. But often, we don’t know how to shift. We might see it’s needed, but we don’t know where to begin.
Here’s my shift:
I’m changing the name of this Substack to Powered by Possibility.
Why?
When I first started this blog, it was deeply rooted in my work with people struggling with food. And that work is still a huge part of what I do — but it’s not the entirety of who I am.
I am so much more than my food struggles. And I know you are too.
What I’ve noticed over and over is that once people overcome their food challenges, a new question emerges:
If I can do this… what else is possible?
This is the thread I see running through all of my work — whether it’s around food, or far beyond it. In my own life, too. The things I’ve done that I never thought were possible didn’t happen by forcing or pushing harder. They happened by understanding and working with my nervous system instead of staying stuck in old patterns.
This Substack will now be a space to explore all the ways we can do things we never thought possible — through the lens of the nervous system, and beyond.
I’ll be honest: There’s a part of me that wants this all perfectly packaged. That part wants the branding, the logo, the design — all buttoned up before I share it with you. But I’m not doing that this time.
I’m inviting you along for the journey. You’ll see the redesign unfold in real time. You’ll be part of the remodel.
When I give myself permission to let this be imperfect — to let it evolve — my nervous system feels so much more spacious. I don’t need to have it all figured out. I just need to know the next step.
And this is the next step:
The change in the name.
The shift in the focus.
I’ll still talk about food and my journey with it. But if you want to continue receiving content specifically focused on binge eating, make sure you’re subscribed to my podcast, Binge Eating Breakthrough, and that you’re on my email list just for food-related support (you can join here — the mini series is a great place to start).
What does this mean for paid subscribers?
Paid subscribers will continue to get behind-the-scenes access to personal stories and videos, plus the monthly Courage, Compassion & Connection calls.
These calls will include a short teaching about the nervous system, and then open time for any questions — not just about food, but about understanding and working with your own nervous system in any area of your life.
If you’re currently a paid subscriber, I’ll reach out to you personally today to see if you’d like to continue with this new focus.
And if you’re not a paid subscriber yet but feel drawn to join us, now is a beautiful time. You’ll be able to join our next call on Wednesday, where I’ll explain the nervous system in simple, easy-to-understand terms — and share the one word that is more important than anything else.
For now, I invite you to come along and be a part of this evolution.
I’d love to hear from you:
✔️ What do you think about this shift?
✔️ What would you love to see here?
✔️ How can I support you in discovering your own shifts and stepping into what is possible for you?
Thank you for being here. I can’t wait to see what unfolds — for me, and for you.
A lovely shift, Jane! Onward!
Let's keep on keeping on!! Love the shift idea!!!
